If you use them with the truck frame mount they will physically bolt the engine in but the motor will set to high and throw off drive shaft angles. Look at the photo I posted. The tabs sticking out the side of the frame mount have to set into the recess on either side of the engine bracket where the thru bolt installs.
The bolt only retains the mount, the tabs support the weight of the engine. This is where the mounts and brackets are most different. If mount and bracket are mismatched the thru bolt will not go in. Then if you measure the height of the bracket from where it bolts to the block to the center of the thru hole you will again find it different.

That Vac mod is likely just fine then, it just needed turned way inward. Which is why I suggested at least 2 full turns. That doesn’t sound to bad right now if you were on it pretty good. If it was a light throttle take off, then its shifting late and you need to back it out a little more.

The 4L60 is essentially the same transmission on the outside as the early 4L60E. If you are looking to replace your old TH with an overdrive transmission, than going with a R4 or 4L60 is going to be a lot more cost-effective than trying to swap out for the computer controlled 4L60E.
The two biggest obstacles when putting a TH in a vehicle that originally came with a 4L60E and vice versa are: The 4L60E on the other hand is controlled by the engines computer. It is a bit easier to run a TH behind an LS series engine.

We have raced TH ‘s in both first and second gear without problem, and the manual valve body that Scott previously mentioned would be a very good move no matter what gear you want to race your car in.
I just thought I’d offer an opinion on your final gear ratios for the length tracks that you are planning on racing on.
