I sat there at point blank range and blasted 20 shells into his real armour while he totally ignored me until an enemy SPG took me out in a single hit from the other side of the map. I suppose that’s all you can do until I can afford to be in an imba tank myself or they fix their game. Getting behind an enemy tank, even if yours is comparatively small and fast is no small feat as you are usually spotted a long way off and this game heavily favours being immobile, in cover, camping. At the moment the game doesn’t reward getting behind your opponents that very well, unless it is a tank destroyer, which correctly does have atrocious armour on the rear and it can’t turn to shoot you if you disable its tracks, even a light tank should pose threat to a heavy one if you can score rear hits. I am a history buff myself, but really we are already mixing Soviet, German and US tanks on the same teams so why not break immersion a little more and make the game fun?

There’s a lot of satisfaction to gain from this, which is why as a person who detests this game, I actually do still play it. The game is all about grinding. Tier goes fast, is a little longer, is very long, then after that it doesn’t seem to be long before tier 6, and then 7, but 8, 9 and 10 are very long grinds.
I’ve played since June basically EVERY day and I have two tier 10 tanks unlocked, a couple of tier 9 tanks, half a dozen tier 8’s, many tier 7’s. So you can see it takes a long time to get tanks. I play to get one win a day in each tank I care about, never grinding because that’s too tedious and it takes me this kind of time. The game heavily rewards money spending via premium tanks that are poorly balanced and with premium shells Though these can now be bought with in-game currency – which has caused some chaos and imbalance.
The premium tanks are frequently overpowered when introduced, causing much anger among players who face them – which of course means lots of players run out and buy these tanks. They’re not cheap either. The next step, Wargaming nerfs the tank so the normal playerbase stops complaining, but then they buff it again and it goes on and on.

However my credit grind for the IS-4 has been less than successful as I have made a few side-purchases. Going forward into March I intend to make a determined effort to start amassing those credits.

I have suspicion that this is how things work. Since I have suspicious mind, I am wondering if financial things have any part on this After all, those good players that play a lot, also use lot of money to play WoT. Multiple players tracking this and sharing results would still show if the best players are more consistently being put on the same team.
Well, what I meant was that taking large sample group would overall show random, since MM in my case would treat each participant differently, based on their stats or whatever would be used. One would need to take several players from both side of the average divider, have all track few hundred games and then compare results between those groups. And of course differences would be subtle, since that sort of “manipulation” would effect only chance to win and not necessarily actual wins.
What would be interesting is to compare 2 players with similar efficiency ratings but one bit above average WinRate, other below. It might not be very useful to compare 2 players with very different efficiency I use that as measurement how person plays in match , since obviously better player would statistically effect battle more and win more. So it’d need to be “similar” players to compare to be able to detect this sort of manipulation, if there is such. You lost me and it’s going from an interesting thread into nutjob conspiracy theory realm.
